Austin. Educated English private schools; architect's apprentice under William Sampson Barwick. Came to U. S. 1890, first locating at Philadelphia; 1892-5 in San Francisco, Cal., and since latter year in Los Angeles. In prac. in U. S. since 1890. Architect of the following buildings in Cal.�Potter Hotel, Santa Barbara ; Leighton, Alvarado and Fremont hotels. Los Angeles; Wright and Callender building; First M. E. church, Los Angeles, and First M. E. church, Pasadena; California Hospital, Angeles Hospital, So. Cal. College of Medicine, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Univ. So. Cal. (re-built), Harvard Military Academy and Madam Ida Hancock residence. Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner; associate mem. American Institute Architects; Pres. Los Angeles Humane Society; mem.
