Sacramento County Biographies JULIUS CLINTON BEACH Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP PAGE 257. lives one and a half miles from Freeport, his Post Office, and ten miles from Sacramento; he owns two hundred and twenty-six acres of land; was born in Ohio in 1824; when about twelve years of age he removed with his parents to Missouri, and remained there until 1839; he then went to Illinois and lived there until 1849; he came to California in 1850 and engaged in mining for six months. He settled in this county, on the Sacramento River, in October, 1850, where he has been engaged in farming ever since. Mr. Beach was married in 1855 to Miss Mary E. Davis, a native of Pennsylvania, who has borne him seven children one son and six daughters; one of the latter is deceased. He has held the office of School Trustee of Freeport District.
