	Post Office, Brighton; lives eight miles from Sacramento, on 
the Jackson road; was born in Ohio in 1837; removed to Iowa in 1852, and lived 
there until 1855; he moved to Kansas in that year, and was farming there until 
1857, when he returned to Iowa, and continued farming until 1859; he then went 
to Pike's Peak, but returned the same year to Iowa. The year following he went 
to Oregon, and in 1861 came to California, and followed teaming until 1866. 
Since then he has been farming; owns one hundred and sixty acres of land, worth 
about $4,000. He was married in 1866 to Miss L. L. Kilgore, a native of Iowa; 
they have four children, all sons.
