BELL Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP Page 246 Post Office, Walsh Station; lives ten miles southeast of Sacramento; was born in Tennessee in 1827, and lived there until 1836; he removed to Missouri in that year, and resided there until 1849; he then came to California, across the Plains, and engaged in mining in Shasta county a few months; he subsequently removed to Yuba county; settled in this county in 1856, where he has since been farming; owns three hundred and fifteen acres, worth, with improvements, about $6,000. He was married in 1854 to Miss E. Gunter, a native of Ohio, and who has borne him twelve children, five boys and seven girls, eight of whom are living.
