	Was born in Union, Lincoln county, Maine, April 8, 1856. When ten 
years of age he, with his parents, came to California and settled in Mendocino 
City, where he has since resided. At nineteen years of age he began the stage 
business, which he has since followed, and now owns the lines from Ukiah to 
Mendocino and from Mendocino to Westport. He is unmarried.
