Page 270. lives one mile from Elk Grove, his Post Office, and fourteen miles from Sacramento; was born in the State of New York in 1827; he moved to Wisconsin in 1843, and lived there until 1850, engaged in masonry; he came to California in that year, across the Plains, and engaged in mining in El Dorado and other counties for two years; he then went to Sacramento, and was in the masonry business there about four years. He settled near his present location in 1856, and has since been engaged in farming and stock raising; owns three hundred and twenty acres, worth, with improvements, about $3600. Mr. Bond has now held the office of School Trustee for about four years. He was married in 1855 to Miss Frances Eustis, a native of Maine; they have six children four boys and two girls.
