CARRINGTON Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm SAN JOAQUIN TOWNSHIP. Page 271. Post Office, Florin; lives eight and a half miles from Sacramento; was born in New Jersey, in 1844, and lived there until 1859; he came to California in that year, with his parents, and settled in this county; they engaged in farming and fruit-raising; he is now engaged in the same business, on the same place where he gathered his first crop---which was a good one---settling the doubt in their minds as to the worth of the country for grain growing; he owns eighty acres, which, with improvements, are worth about $4,000. He was married, in 1870, to Annie Hack, a native of Battle Creek, Michigan, who has borne him four children, only one of whom is living---Annie Pauline, born July 10, 1877.
