	capitalist, Sacramento. Was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, in 
1825; remained until 1827; then to Woburn, Massachusetts; remained until 1843; 
then to Albany, New York; engaged in boot and shoe store. Came to California via 
Cape Horn and settled in Sacramento City, where he now resides. Has been engaged 
in merchandising, flour mills, and is now in life insurance, also capitalist. 
Married April 2, 1857, a native of New York City. They have two boys and three 
girls living. A view of his residence is given elsewhere.
