Page 245 Lives one and a half miles from Sacramento, which is his Post Office; was born in Denmark in 1843, and lived there until 1862; he came to England, and followed the life of a sailor until 1868; he came to California in that year by way of Australia, and engaged in farming in this county until 1874; he then moved to Sacramento City, and was proprietor of Sierra Nevada saloon for about four years. In 1878 you removed to his present place of business, at the Shed, American River bridge, where he keeps a saloon, just north of the Toll Bridge.
