This gentleman was born, in county of Cork, Ireland, in 1838, and came direct from his native land to California, where he first found employment on a farm, near Watsonville. Here he remained for about six years and then located at Castroville, on the Moro Cojo ranch, where he has since resided. He leases about 400 acres of land, on which he raises stock, grain and dairy products. Our subject married, in 1873, Margaret Mahoney, and they have four sons and four daughters. He is a thorough and successful farmer and a respected citizen.
