Page 271. lives in Florin, ten miles from Sacramento; was born in Illinois, in 1846. When still an infant he moved to Iowa, and lived there until 1868, being engaged the latter years in working for a railroad as a blacksmith; he then moved to Nebraska, and was engaged in stock-raising and blacksmithing there until 1876; in that year he came to California and to this county; is now engaged in blacksmithing, sheet-iron and pump work, and fruit culture; owns eleven acres, worth, with improvements, about $4000. Mr. Crenshaw has held the office of Justice of the Peace. He was married in 1864 to Maria James, a native of Iowa, who has borne him seven children, four of whom are living---Minnie, born August 11, 1866; Curtis, born November 27, 1870; Henry, born January 29, 1873; and Lulu, born July 13, 1876.
