	farmer; Post Office, Roseville, Placer County, California; 
lives four miles from Folsom and eighteen miles from Sacramento; owns four 
hundred acres of land, valued at $3000; born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1835; 
emigrated to the United States in 1850; came direct to California via. Cape 
Horn; followed mining for four years at Mississippi Bar, Sacramento County; then 
engaged in ranching in this county up to 1860; that year went to Carson City and 
entered the hotel business; six years later returned to this county and 
commenced farming, where he now resides. Married Ellen Mullen, from Ireland, in 
1859; they have one son and two daughters.
