Sacramento County Biographies FREDERICK DAVIS Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP PAGE 258. lives twenty-four and a half miles from Sacramento, and three and a half miles from Courtland; he owns thirty-six acres of land; was born in England in 1836; he emigrated to the United States in 1852, and lived in New York until 1857; in that year he went to Philadelphia, and remained until 1860; he then came to California, and settled on the place where he is now living on Grand Island. He returned East in 1878, by way of the Isthmus; he came back to this State the same year. His land and improvements are worth about $4000. Post Office, Courtland.
