	farmer and stock-raiser; Post Office, Sacramento; he lives twelve 
miles from Sacramento, and four miles from Union House; was born in Vermont in 
1848, and lived there until 1870. He came to this State in that year, and 
settled in this county, where he is now engaged in farming and stock-raising. He 
rents of John Whitcomb thirty-eight hundred and fifty acres, having all under 
cultivation except four hundred acres. He was married in 1868 to Miss Julia Fay, 
also a native of Vermont; they have one child, a daughter.
