FISHER Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP Page 248 Post Office, Brighton; lives nine miles east of Sacramento; was born in Maryland in 1828; removed when quite small, with his parents, to Illinois, and lived there until 1846, working at coopering; - in that year he moved to Missouri, and remained until 1853, engaged in threshing; he then came across the Plains as far as Salt Lake City, and stopped there until 1855, when he came to this State, and settled in this county; owns four hundred and twenty acres, worth, with improvements, about $5,000. He was married in 1852 to Miss E. F. Clark, a native of New York; she died in 1864. He was married again, in 1866, to Miss Sarah Kingkade, a native of Massachusetts.
