	lives twenty-two miles from Sacramento, and seven miles from 
Franklin; was born in Germany in 1839, and remained until 1869, being engaged in 
farming. He emigrated to the United States, and came to California in that year; 
he is now engaged in farming in this county, on the place belonging to Harry 
Slosson. He was married in 1875 to Eliza Herzog, also a native of Germany; they 
have one boy and one girl. Post Office, Franklin.
