Post Office, Walsh Station; lives thirteen miles from Sacramento, on the Jackson road; was born in Pennsylvania in 1830; removed with his parents in 1837 to Virginia, and remained there till 1843, when he went to Iowa, but returned to Virginia the next year, and lived there until 1846; he then returned to Iowa, and resided there until 1859; he came to California in that year, and settled in Placer County; while there he was engaged in mining, teaming, hotel keeping, and the mill business; he came to this county in 1868, and has since been farming; owns one hundred and sixty acres of land, worth about $2500. Mr. Fry was elected Justice of the Peace in 1875, and served two years. He was married in 1852 to Miss H. Barnum, a native of New York; they have five children living, three sons and two daughters.
