He came to New York at the age of eighteen; remained five years; in 1851, came to California, and dug gold for a year. Then bought the farm where he now lives. Teamed to the mines, selling the produce of his own farm at a big profit. In 1860 Mr. Green married. Has two children a son and a daughter. Mrs. Green died in 1868. The farm, one of the neatest and most productive in the county, has a large orchard of choice fruit. Mr. Green is rich; is never idle; personally directs his help, and guards his interest in the farm and orchard.
