Greene is a native of Falmouth, Massachusetts, where he was born June 18, 1829. He left his native home in August, 1849, in the schooner Twin Brothers, bound for the gold fields of California, and, after sailing around Cape Horn, arrived in San Francisco March 2, 1850. The schooner was sold, and, in company with three of his companions, he went to the mines, where he remained for eighteen months, when he came to Santa Cruz County, which has been his home since. He spent fourteen years of his subsequent life driving stage in various parts of the State. He resides in Soquel and follows his trade of a mason. HISTORY OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.- E. S.
