Sacramento County Biographies GEORGE HANLON Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP Page 248 Post Office, Routier; lives four miles from that place and fifteen miles from Sacramento; was born in Ohio in 1823, and lived there until 1851, engaged in farming; in that year he removed to Iowa; but in 1852 he came to California and to Sacramento County; he subsequently went to El Dorado County, and engaged in mining and teaming there until 1860; since then he has lived on his present location; owns eleven hundred and fifty acres, worth, with improvements, about $15 per acre. Mr. Hanlon was married in 1844 to Miss Mary Cable, also a native of Ohio; they have one son and three daughters.
