Page 272-273. lives three and a half miles from Elk Grove and eighteen miles from Sacramento. Mr. Healey owns fifty-seven acres of land; he was born in England in 1826; remained until 1849; engaged in manufacturing and railroading; he emigrated to the United States in 1849 and settled in Massachusetts, where he engaged in railroading; came to California via Cape Horn in 1850; followed mining for about five years in El Dorado and Nevada Counties; settled in Colusa County in 1855; moved to Sacramento County in 1856, where he now resides, engaged in farming; in 1852 and '53 Mr. Healey visited the World's Fair at New York. Married in 1853 Miss E. Killingsworth, a native of North Carolina; they have two boys and three girls living. Land and improvements are worth about $1,100. Post Office, Elk Grove.
