Lake County Biographies Judge Rodney J. HUDSON Contributed by Margaret Hinton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm Was born at St. Helena, Napa County, February 20, 1850, and is the son of David and Frances Hudson. His father was a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States for thirty years. Rodney Hudson grew up in St. Helena, and at age 15 entered an academy at Sonoma. In 1869 he entered the University of Michigan. In a short time his health failed, and he was forced to quit school and return to California. In the fall of 1872 he entered the Law School at Lebanon, Tennessee. He graduated in 1873 and returned to California. He set up his law practice in southern California, and in 1875 was elected as District Attorney of Los Angeles County. He remained in that office for two years, when, on account of failing health, he came to Lake County and opened a law office. In 1878 he was elected as Superior Judge of Lake County at the age of 29. (He was still the Superior Court Judge at the time of this book (1881)) He was united in marriage in April, 1881, to Miss Panthea Boggs, daughter of A. G. Boggs, of Napa City.
