Page 268 lives four miles from Folsom, and one mile from Mormon Island, his Post Office. He was born in the State of New York in 1810, and came across the Plains in 1849, arriving August 30, 1849. Mined eighteen months at Long Bar, on Yuba River; then spent fifteen years in Sacramento, during eight of which he was blacksmithing; he then mined six months in El Dorado County; he then engaged for five years in ranching in Sacramento County, fifteen miles from Sacramento City. He then lived two years in Sacramento City. For the past five years he has lived in the vicinity of Folsom. He is now mining some claims he has owned for three years.
