Robert Ingram

He was born in Wayne county, Ohio, November 11, 1837. His father died fourteen 
years later, and Robert then served an apprenticeship of two years to a 
carpenter at Fort Defiance. He worked at his trade until the spring of 1859. He 
then came overland to California, and began mining on Buckeye hill, Nevada 
county. In the fall of 1861 he came to Long valley, and worked at his trade ten 
years. In 1869 he purchased a ranch of 120 acres thirty-five miles north-east of 
Reno, which has since been his home. He is engaged in the stock and dairy 
business. His ranch and summer range are in Last Chance valley, Plumas county. 
Politically, he is a republican. He is a member of Loyalton Lodge No. 187, I. O. 
O. F.
