	Lives twenty-eight miles from Sacramento, and three miles from 
Walnut Grove, his Post Office; was born in Prussia in 1840, and lived there 
until 1855, when he went to England, and followed a sailor's life until 1856; he 
came to California and to this county in 1857; he owns one hundred and twelve 
acres of land, worth, with improvements, about $20,000. Mr. Jackson was married 
in 1871 to Miss Mary A. Mehan, a native of Ireland; they have one child living,
