	lives sixteen miles from Sacramento, and three miles from 
Elk Grove, her Post Office; was born in Tennessee in 1831; when quite young she 
moved with her parents to Alabama, and lived there until 1839, when they moved 
to Missouri. She was married April 23, 1846, to John O. Devin, and lived in 
Missouri until 1856, when they came to California and settled in this county, 
where she has ever since resided. Mr. Devin died December 22, 1873; she was 
again married to Wm. A. Jenkins, who died April 29, 1877; she has eight children 
five boys and three girls. She owns one hundred and eighty acres of land.
