	was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1841, where he 
remained till 1863. He came to California and has been and now is engaged in the 
practice of the law. Mr. Johnson was married at Syracuse, New York, to Miss 
Annie de Montfredy, in 1861. His wife is a native of Onondaga County, New York. 
They have two boys and three girls. Mr. Johnson has held the following offices 
Deputy Assessor, Clerk of the Board of Swamp Land Commissioner, of Sacramento 
county, Assemblyman from Sacramento county in 1877-8; and now holds the office 
of State Senator from the same county. Post Office, Sacramento.
