	Post Office, Routier; lives eleven miles east of Sacramento; 
was born in Canada in 1829, and lived there until 1862, engaged in farming; he 
came to California in that year and settled in this county; followed teaming 
four years; since then he has been farming. He was at Pike's Peak during the 
mining excitement, and also shared in the excitement at Caribou. He owns one 
hundred and fifty-one acres, worth, with improvements, about $6,500. Was married 
in 1873 to M. Eliza Fisher, a native of this State; they have two 
children--girls.
