Page 274. lives eight miles from Sacramento, and the same distance from Florin, which is his Post Office. Was born in Illinois, in 1846, and lived there until 1862; he came to California in that year, and engaged in mining in El Dorado County until 1868; he then went to Nevada and mined until 1869, when he moved to Merced County, and was in the sheep business until 1877. That same year he removed to his present residence, where he is engaged in farming and fruit culture. He owns forty acres of land, worth, with improvements, about $1500. Mr. McKenney was married in 1875 to Anna M. Carrington, a native of New Jersey, who has borne him one son Wallace Erle, born August 22, 1877.
