	Was born in Ireland, in 1830, and lived there until 1846; he 
emigrated to the United States in that year, and lived in St. Louis, Missouri, 
until 1850; he then came to this State, and settled in this county, in 1852. He 
was married, in 1864, to Miss Annie Murray, also a native of Ireland, who bore 
him nine children, seven of whom are living. Mr. Murray died April 4, 1877. His 
widow, Annie Murray, with her family, lives eighteen miles from Sacramento; she 
owns three hundred and twenty acres of land; her Post Office address is Elk 
Grove.
