	Lives seventeen miles from Sacramento, and eight miles from Elk 
Grove, his Post Office; was born in Ireland, in 1828, and lived there until 
1848; he emigrated to the United States in that year, and was engaged in the 
pork business in St. Louis, Missouri, until 1850; he then went to Salt Lake with 
Ben. Holliday; left there October 3, of same year, and came to El Dorado County, 
California; in 1851, he left that county, and settled in this county, where he 
now lives; owns three hundred and twenty acres of land, worth, with 
improvements, about $7,500. He was married, in 1859, to Miss Bridget Banks, also 
a native of Ireland.
