	Post Office, Routier; lives ten miles from Sacramento, on the 
Sacramento Valley Railroad; was born in Norway, in 1822, and lived there until 
1846; in that year he emigrated to the United States, and engaged in farming in 
Illinois until 1850; he then crossed the plains to Oregon, and the year 
following came to California; he worked one year in the redwoods. He came to the 
county in 1854, and is now engaged in farming; owns three hundred and fifty 
acres, worth, with improvements, about $10,000.
