	Lives twenty miles from Sacramento and three quarters of a 
mile from Cosumnes his Post Office; was born in Ireland in 1828 and lived there 
until 1846; he emigrated to the United States in that year and remained in New 
York until 1852; he then went to Massachusetts and resided there until 1863, 
when he came to California; he owns four hundred and seventy-five acres of land. 
Mr. Pickett was married in 1859 to Miss Margaret Barry, who was born in New York 
in 1839; they have five children Garrett George, born in Massachusetts, October 
24, 1863; William H., February 4, 1868; Michael E., June 24, 1871; Anna L., 
December 24, 1873; Theresa May, May 6, 1878.
