	Lives five miles from Cosumnes his Post Office and twenty-three 
miles from Sacramento. He was born in 1812 in New York, and remained there till 
1834; then moved to Illinois, where he lived till 1850, when he came to 
California. Returned after two years to Illinois, and there engaged in farming 
till 1867, having served two years and ten months in the One hundred and 
Twenty-seventh Illinois Infantry. In 1867 he returned to California. Was married 
in 1839 to Miss A. M. Hatch, a native of New York. They have had three boys two 
living and two girls one of whom is now living. Property is worth about $8500.
