	Post Office, Hicksville; lives four miles from Galt, and 
twenty-two miles from Sacramento; was born in New York City in 1824, and lived 
there until 1852; she came to California in that year, and resided in Sacramento 
City until 1854, being there through the flood and fire; she then (1854) moved 
to the place where she now resides: owns four hundred and fifty-six acres of 
land, worth, with improvements, about nine thousand dollars. She was married in 
1851 to Peter Riley, a native of Ireland, and whom she had five children; one 
son and two daughters are deceased; she has two sons living. Mr. Riley died June 
2, 1873.
