C. F. SANDFOSS
 
            Was born in Germany in 1833, and in early boyhood he settled with 
his parents at St. Louis, Missouri, crossed the plains to California in 1852, 
and located in El Dorado county, where he has since resided continuously except 
a trip to the States.  For the past 16 years has been on the farm.  Owns about 
430 acres in what is known as Mill valley, called after Bartram�s mill, that 
occupied once the valley.  There is a fine residence on the place and 
beautifully located.
