	Post Office, Florin; lives nine miles southeast from 
Sacramento; was born in England in 1817, and lived there until 1863, engaged as 
master under the Queen; emigrated to the United States, and settled in this 
county in 1863, where he is engaged in farming and malting; owns three hundred 
and twenty acres, worth, with improvements, about $10,000. He was married in 
1849 to Miss M. H. Lea, also a native of England, and who has borne him seven 
sons and four daughters; one son and two daughters are deceased.
