	Post Office, Florin; lives seven miles south-east from 
Sacramento; was born in Iowa in 1849. He came to California, across the Plains, 
with his parents, in 1850; he spent about seven years steamboating, as pilot, on 
the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers; since then he has been engaged in 
farming: owns eighty acres of land, worth, with improvements, about $3,500. He 
was married in 1878 to Miss Hattie Clark.
