Page 269 Post Office, Mormon Island; lives three-quarters of a mile from that town and three and a half miles from Folsom; was born in New York City, in 1849, and lived there until 1853; he came to California in that year, with his parents, by way of the Isthmus, and lived at Salmon Falls until 1869; he then removed to Mendocino County, and remained there four years, when he removed to Mormon Island; has been engaged in mining ever since he came to the County; he has been Ditch Agent for the Natoma Water and Mining Company for the last six years. Mr. Silberhorn was married October, 1873, to Miss Catherine Hart, who was born near Mormon Island; they have three children two boys and a daughter.
