Page 279. farmer and fruit grower; Post Office, Sacramento; lives four miles from Sacramento; has two hundred and fifteen acres of land, valued at $12,000. He was born in Sussex County, New Jersey, in 1841; in 1848 he removed with his parents to Illinois, where he remained until 1863, engaged in farming; he then came to California, via the Isthmus, and settled in Sacramento County. He was married in 1870 to Miss Anna A. Hite, a native of Illinois; they have a son, George H. Slawson, aged three and one-half years. A view of his place is given elsewhere.
