	Post Office, Sacramento and Routier; lives nine miles east from 
the former, on Valley R. R.; was born in Illinois in 1837, and lived there until 
1849; he came to California in that year, and lived in El Dorado county until 
1850, when he removed to this county; is now engaged in farming: owns one 
hundred acres, worth, with improvements, about $18,000. He was a member of the 
Legislature in 1869 and 1870; has held the office of Deputy Assessor, and is now 
clerking in Comptroller's office.
