Solano County Biographies WILLIAM H. TAYLOR Transcribed by Kathy Sedler This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm is a native of Des Moines county, Iowa, and born March 1, 1845. Here he resided until 1852, when he emigrated to Jamestown, Tuolumne county, Cal., coming via the Isthmus, and arrived at that place in December, of that year. After two years, he returned to Iowa, and remained there until 1856, when he again came to California. At this time he settled in Oroville, Butte county, Cal., where he married Elizabeth J., daughter of J. M. Vance, M.D., then a resident of that place. In March, 1875, he came to Suisun, and has since been engaged in the mercantile business, under the firm name of Vance & Taylor.
