James O. Toney

	Was born in Fayette county, Texas, July 4, 1845. In 1854 his 
parents came to California and settled at Los Angeles. At the end of one year 
they moved to Sonoma county, where they remained till 1858. They then came to 
Mendocino county and settled in Long valley, where the father still resides. 
James and his brother, Seth T., own a place in Scott�s valley, comprising one 
thousand two hundred and eighty acres.
