TROXEL This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm This thrifty farmer and pioneer of the State, who resides nearly five miles southeast of Elk Creek, was born in Illinois in the year 1834. He received a common education and spent the early years of his life on a farm. He reached California in 1854 and was engaged in teaming for some time in Placer County. In 1870 he arrived at Colusa County and was occupied in farming near Willows till 1886, when he removed to his present farm, of two hundred and five acres, which he cultivates with industry and success.
