TRYON Transcribed by: Nancy Pratt Melton This file is part of the California Genealogy & History Archives http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htm FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP PAGE 262. lives eight miles from Sacramento; owns four hundred and twenty acres of land; was born in Ohio in 1825; removed with his parents in 1840 to Indiana, and lived there until 1863. He came to California in that year and settled in this county, where he is now engaged in farming and blacksmithing with his son, S. C. Tryon. He was married in 1847 to Miss A. Cone, a native of Georgia, who has borne him six children three sons and three daughters; two of the latter are deceased. Mr. Tryon owns a large twelve-foot Baxter header, which he runs during harvest. His land and improvements are worth about $15,000. Post Office, Union House.
