In 1904 he came to California, located in Lindsay and engaged in the livery business. Among the vehicles he possessed was a hearse which was used by J. M. Hadley, undertaker, and in this way he became connected with the business. In 1915 he entered the employ of Mr. Hadley and four years later bought out his employer, who then went to Visalia. Mr. Webb conducts the business at his residence on Mirage avenue, in the large home erected by Mr. Hadley, with rooms for undertaking purposes. In 1909 Mr. Webb was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Keeley, a descendant of one of Lindsay's pioneer families. Her father was a prominent citizen in his day. Mr. and Mrs. Webb have five children: Agnes, John, Jay, Gyneth and Winifred. Fraternally Mr. Webb is a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges of Lindsay. He takes an interest in all projects for the improvement of local conditions, is a director of the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce, and is now serving his first term as one of the city trustees.
