GRIGSBY. The subject of this sketch is a native of Napa County, and was born near Yountville, December 14, 1851, and is the son of one of the first pioneers of the county, Jesse and Margaret Alexander Grigsby. He attended the common schools and afterward completed a course at the Collegiate Institute of Napa, graduating from that institution in the class of 1872. Mr. Grigsby has remained all his life in this county, and February 1, 1880, commenced keeping his present livery and feed stable in St. Helena, under the firm name of W. P. Grigsby & Co., located on the corner of Main and Polk streets. He was united in marriage September 12, 1872, to Miss Evaline Osborn, who was born in Ogle County, Illinois. They have three children: Willis O., born in St. Helena, March 24, 1873; Gertrude E, born in St. Helena, May 21, 1875, and George P., born near Yountville, February 5, 1880.
