W. LYMAN. Son of Theodore B. and Annie M. Albert Lyman, was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, July 28, 1850. He resided at his birthplace until 1860, when he, with his parents, went to Europe and remained there ten years. During this time he was educated at the School of Mines, at Freiberg, in Saxony, and in the University of Berlin. In 1870 he returned to America, and in 1871 he came to California, purchasing his present place in July of that year, where he is engaged in wine-making, milling, general farming, and stock raising. He has a tract of nine hundred acres, on which was the Bale homestead. A full description of his wine cellar and mill will be found in their proper places. He is unmarried.
