Adams Veteran of the Civil War Has Answered Call of Taps O.S. Adams, who for the past three years has been a resident of Pacific Grove and who has been in poor health for some time passed away at his home on the corner of Twelfth and Junipero streets yesterday morning about 7 o’clock, his age being seventy six years. Mr. Adams leaves besides his widow one son W.C. Adams, of Pacific Grove to mourn his loss. His funeral which will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock from his late residence will be under the auspices of Monterey Lodge, No. 182 Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and Lucius Fairchild Post will act as pall-bearers. Mr. Adams was both an Odd Fellow and a veteran of the Civil War, but was not affiliated with the local lodges. Mr. Adams served during the Civil War as a member of Company A, second New Hampshire Regiment in Hooker’s brigade of the Army of the Potomac. He was a member of the Keene (N.H.) Post, G.A.R.
