Washington Bryant, ex Supervisor from Alisal District. The deceased greatly esteemed. Having been a resident of this county a number of years, he was universally recognized as a man of integrity good judgment and strong will. The primary cause of his death was a wound received by him in the late war. Frequent amputations of the leg were necessary and in submitting to them he manifested singular fortitude and courage. He has joined a host of spirits equally brave and true. “And the dead thus meet the dead, While the living o’er them weep And the men whom Lee and Stonewall led, and the hearts that once together died Together, still, shall sleep”
